HSEQ Advisor
About the position
EPEC are looking for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to provide comprehensive operational support to the project delivery team for active project sites. This role is essential for driving the implementation of the HSEQ management system across our delivery services. This role will act as the main contact for HSEQ matters ensuring all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements are met as well as ensuring project-specific HSEQ plans are developed, implemented and adhered to by all site personnel and contractors.
A flexible approach to work varied hours is required as you carry out field-based inspections and audits to assess HSEQ compliance, identifying areas for improvement. Onboarding subcontractors, designing & conducting toolbox talks, reporting on data & trends, risk assessments, hazard identification and leading investigations into incidents and near misses, following up with corrective actions will be a key component of this position.
You will be responsible for maintaining and updating records, incident reports, inspections, non conformances, KPIs, tracking qualifications and training records as well as permits.
This is a highly influential and collaborative role that requires frequent national travel where you will predominantly be based out on site (with some in office attendance). This is your chance to drive EPEC’s positive safety culture, leading from the front and leading by example.
About you
- Minimum 5 years experience in HSEQ, within construction, mining or other industrial sectors, with onsite exposure and experience in high-risk operations essential
- Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety as a minimum
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment desirable
- Issue work permits competency (or willingness to obtain) and experience as permit authority/issuer within a high-risk environment
- Qualification in incident root cause analysis (ICAM, TapRoot)
- General Construction Induction Card
- Open, unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
- First Aid, CPR, and LVR
