EPEC Group was appointed by PCL Constructors Pacific Rim to deliver the high-voltage grid connection for the 400MW Stubbo Solar Farm in Stubbo, NSW — one of Australia’s most significant utility-scale solar developments. The project was delivered across two stages: STSF1 at 202MW AC and STSF2 at 198MW AC.
Selected through a competitive tender process, EPEC was chosen for our proven expertise in complex grid connection projects and our reputation as a trusted electrical engineering partner in the renewable energy sector. PCL recognised that EPEC’s integrated delivery model and deep technical capability made us the right choice to manage a project of this scale — and the partnership reflected a shared commitment to quality, accountability, and long-term outcomes for Australia’s energy infrastructure.
What set this project apart was EPEC’s ability to consolidate a scope that would typically be divided across multiple contractors. By taking ownership of the full SCADA package across both the substation and the solar farm, we reduced project interfaces, eliminated scope risk, and delivered a seamless connection to Transgrid’s EHV network. Our technical team identified opportunities to enhance HMI performance during the R2 phase, reducing Hold Point testing duration and accelerating the project’s path to full commercial operation — demonstrating the kind of proactive, expert-led delivery that EPEC is known for.
