Power Systems Engineer

About the position

We are looking for a Power System Engineer to join our team based in either South Brisbane, or Melbourne CBD, taking technical responsibility to perform and direct activities for power system studies in PSS/E, PSCAD, Powerfactory and Hypersim modelling environments.

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience completing generator performance standard studies compliant with schedule 5 of the national electricity rules. Experience in communicating and negotiating with NSPs and AMEO will ensure your success in this position.

A strong understanding of preparing technical reports for the generator connection process, including generator performance standard studies, registration, and compliance testing will be a key element of this role.

Proficiency with designs, project controls, managing subcontractors, undertaking site inspections and developing cost effective engineering solutions will be required.

About you

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics essential
  • Full working rights within Australia essential
  • 3 – 5 years experience in full end to end delivery of multi-discipline complex high voltage grid connection projects with a background in an engineering design, build & commission operating environment
  • Strong HSEQ focus and passion and commitment for delivery and achieving strong results in areas of commercial performance and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels and successfully negotiate with and influence customer and senior level stakeholders in defining project delivery solutions and decisions in line with performance targets
  • Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia desirable
    Proficient multi tasker with a friendly, positive, can-do attitude
