Project Engineer – Commissioning
About the position
We are looking for a Commissioning Project Engineer to join our team based in South Brisbane. This role is responsible for overseeing and executing the study, design and commissioning management of electrical engineering projects. You will be working closely with EPEC’s design team, clients and suppliers to ensure the requirements and specifications are met during the delivery phase including both factory and on-site testing.
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing project scope, assisting with delivery from execution to close out, including conducting risk assessments, ensuring technical requirements are being fulfilled. Provide technical leadership on EPC projects and ensure commissioning management plans are developed to meet anticipated deadlines as well as identify potential issues, risks and safety hazards, developing suitable mitigation strategies. Leverage your previous project engineering experience as you offer technical guidance for the development of electrical systems, prioritising energy efficiency and sustainability.
This hands on role will assist with all project controls including quality assurance, document control including any project related documents as well as assist with on-site commissioning management when required. Maintain a frequent presence during Factory Acceptance Testing to assist with decision making and provide technical advice to ensure a high standard of safety, quality and compliance is achieved.
Strong collaboration is required as you coordinate with the wider engineering team on the revision and version control of the design documents on site including design information requirements for sub-contractors, request for information and schematic drawing mark-ups.
This role may require site visits and will require a valid Australian Drivers License.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of high voltage substation and transmission lines projects
- Familiarity with engineering codes, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
- Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills essential
- Construction White Card and valid Australian Drivers Licence essential
- Full working rights within Australia essential
