Commissioning Lead

About the position

EPEC are looking for a Commissioning Lead to provide leadership and drive all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on all of our HV grid connection projects. You will be responsible for project controls, QA, preparing and issuing test reports & test sheets, leading the resolution and close out of commissioning activities and providing project reporting in alignment with commercial requirements.

This lead role will see you provide high level, technical support to plan and execute R2 testing / hold point testing as well as manage the data associated with all hold point testing activities. As our commissioning SME, you will provide engineering and technical advice to project stakeholders as well as coach and mentor junior staff members in line with career development plans.

The ability to clearly articulate and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders is critical. Our ideal candidate will possess high level critical thinking and problem solving with a collaborative working style.

About you

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category
  • Qualified Electrical Fitter Mechanic within a state or territory of Australia desirable
  • 10+ years of experience in the delivery of multi-discipline complex high voltage grid connection projects with a background in an engineering design, build & commission operating environment
  • Strong HSEQ focus and commitment for operational excellence, achieving strong results in areas of commercial performance and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels and successfully negotiate with and influence customer and senior level stakeholders in defining project delivery solutions and decisions in line with performance targets
  • Collaborative and inclusive leadership style with the ability to coach, mentor and uplift capabilities within the team
