Project Engineer – Substations

About the position

We are looking for a Project Engineer with substation experience to join our team based in South Brisbane. This role will see you taking technical responsibility, executing the study, design and construction management of electrical engineering projects. The role will ensure project requirements and specifications are met during the design phase and delivered successfully in relation to time, cost, safety and quality.

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with managing project scopes, delivering projects from proposal through execution to close out, including conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments, ensuring technical requirements are fulfilled. The ability to create innovative design concepts and offer technical guidance for the development of electrical systems, prioritising energy efficiency and sustainability will be essential. This role will be responsible for ITPs and work packs for electrical installation work packages, checking electrical works, test sheets and signing off ITPs for completed works.

You will develop strong and maintain strong relationships as you collaborate with construction managers, lead designers, subcontractors and delivery partners to deliver project requirements. We are ideally seeking a candidate who come from a renewable energy background with understanding of the high voltage substation projects.

This role may require site visits and will require a valid Australian Drivers License.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering
• Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of high voltage substation and transmission lines projects
• Strong experience in AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with engineering codes, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
• Construction White Card and valid Australian Drivers Licence essential
• Full working rights within Australia essential
