Electrical Engineer

About the position

EPEC are looking for an Electrical Engineer to provide consulting services for projects assigned to the commissioning team, primarily in the fields of generation, high voltage transmission and distribution as well as other technical areas as required to support the growth of the business. Our ideal candidate will have experience in the delivery of multi-discipline complex high voltage grid connection projects with a background in engineering design, construction or commissioning.

Support the senior members within the generator commissioning team by undertaking tasks allocated and assist with planning and scheduling tasks and activities within for the department.

You will be required to support the commissioning team by undertaking engineering activities relating to Hold Point Testing, including but not limited to; Hold Point preparation and testing, prepare Hold Point reports, prepare overlays and assist in troubleshooting commissioning related issues in collaboration with OEM’s, AEMO and NSP’s.

About you

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category
• 1 – 3 years experience as a project coordinator, project engineer or commissioning engineer working on high voltage projects in the renewables sector is essential
• Strong experience in Microsoft Office suite
• Strong communicator capable of articulating a technical position
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the high voltage substations, and generator projects
• Valid Australian drivers licence essential
