Construction Manager
About the position
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager with substations experience to lead civil and electrical related activities on substations across EPEC’s portfolio of projects. This includes planning, organising and providing hands-on assistance and technical support for field activities. The role will support long-term asset management objectives, ensuring the ongoing integrity of operational activities and ensuring the construction and delivery of projects are cost-effective and efficient.
Previous experience leading testing & commissioning activities, managing and resolving defects, outages, identifying, eliminating and mitigating risks to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and on budget are critical to the position.
This role will involve strong collaboration, supporting bid managers, commissioning managers, design teams and extensive external stakeholder engagement, contributing to delivering quality outcomes. Previous experience driving operational efficiencies will be essential as you provide hands-on assistance and technical support across our sites.
This role will include the mentoring and developing of junior tradespeople and apprentices.
This is based out of our South Brisbane office but is predominantly a field based role with a high level of travel involved. The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines will be essential.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or equivalent
- Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic licence essential
- ‘C’ Class Manual Driver’s License essential
- 10+ years experience in substation construction in the electrical HV industry, delivering projects safely, on time, and on budget
- Ability to develop and manage a construction program to assist with the effective delivery of a project
- Demonstrated experience in the successful supervision and leadership of work groups of up to 15 people or more
- Demonstrated technical skills in HV electrical construction and maintenance practices with working knowledge of quality systems
