Cost Controller

About the position

EPEC are looking for a Cost Controller to manage the budget and schedule of our project portfolio. This position requires a meticulous individual with a strong background in project controls, financial management, and reporting processes. Previous experience ensuring accurate and timely financial tracking, forecasting, reporting as well as conducting trend analysis to monitor performance against budget and forecasts will be essential.

This collaborative role will ensure budgetary compliance, identify variances, process journal entries relating to project costs, ensuring the business operates with a healthy cash flow by proactively managing invoices. Previous experience managing the accrual process, ensuring accurate recording of expenses and revenues in compliance with accounting standards and company policies is necessary.

Our ideal candidate will require previous experience in the same or similar role and possess strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating objective and critical thinking with well-developed strategic planning.

About you

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Business essential
  • Minimum 5 years working experience as a Cost Controller or Project Controls Specialist in changing, fast paced project environment
  • System experience with PowerBi, project management software, finance systems (Pronto and MS Dyamic)
  • Collaborative working style, building strong relationships with stakeholder and customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex financial data
  • Extensive knowledge of portfolio and project management methodologies and tools used to track cost, time and quality
