Hardware in the loop for renewable generators

Introducing industry-first technology.

The electricity market is evolving rapidly. Test in real time, detect issues early, make decisions without delay.

Generator compliance obligations

Power system security

Ensure that grid connected generation control systems adequately maintain a stable grid and respond predictably to events.

R2 Generator compliance framework

Certainty of delivery

Prove designs early in the development phase to provide certainty in the network planning process and encourage accelerated deployment of renewables.

R2 Generator resolve non-compliance

Derisking projects

Reduce the potential for costly delays and encourage practices that result in faster commercial output of large renewable generation projects.

New to industry

For years, HIL has been used in automotive, aerospace and defence industries – to design and test in parallel, simulating real scenarios and implementing improvements. Now, our pre commissioning platform for renewable generators enables examination and diagnosis of software hardware mismatch issues before or during commissioning.

Real-time testing platform

Test a range of aggregated control systems such as supervisory plant controllers, power quality meters, SCADA systems and more using our real-time platform. Validate the designed control systems in a real-world environment using a real-time simulator (RTS) that acts as the interface between hardware and the modelled electrical network.

{

Currently, there are neither hardware platforms nor defined testing standards available in the market that can verify the performance of the Aggregated Generator Control System (AGCS) of large-scale solar farms in advance of the grid commissioning process…Our first of its kind hardware platform and testing standard will allow solar or hybrid solar farms to be designed and verified effectively and efficiently before constructing any projects.
